Re: Penguin, and others, help me pick a speaker setup.

I still swear my old JBL GT series subs were the best I ever had.

I think that the 2 12's that I had kicked harder than the 1 JL 15" I ran for a while...

Jebus. :willy:

Reading some of the shit out there about whether or not chimes. warnings, etc. are generated in the HU or the amp has my head spinning. I can't find a solid consensus.

I am planning to remove the Bose amp and installing the following way:

OEM HU > 3Sixty.3 > Amp(s) > Speakers

What I want to be sure of is that I'll still have volume control, chimes, warnings, etc.

Can anyone speak definitively on this?

Just thought about the fact I have D-pillar speakers in the Hoe. Probably doing components front and rear and mounting the tweeters in the pillars back there too.

I know my buddy replaced his HU and didn't have anything from his turn signal to door chimes. :dunno:

I hope it's that easy to assume that if the HU was swapped and the chimes were lost that the chimes are solely handled by the HU and not a combination of the two. If he swapped the HU and the amp, there's no doubt he lost the chime.

BAM!

http://www.truckmodcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1427

Darrin cut the wires for the speakers that he wanted off of the bose amp and left the rest running through it.

Shit looks like all of the picture links are dead...I hope Darrin is doing ok, he hasn't been on in a while.
