Custom sub boxes

I've been shopping around for a custom sub box...

The best fibreglassed price I can get is between $400 - $500

Is that a decent price?


One place is way out to lunch and is charging at least $800 for a wood box

The box is about .6 - .7 ft^3 with a single 10" sub... Ported to somewhere between 29 - 35Hz

what is wrong with that tank of a box (albeit nice!!!)? hahah J/K

that is decent for a custom glass box that is done right.. but i think q-logic or mtx makes a decent box for that application for much cheaper, but i believe it molded plastic..

That tank of a box takes up 50% of my cargo space

The only company I've seen make a box for that location for a Blazer is JL... And that's only on the 4 door Blazer

JL makes a StealthBox for your Blazer. I've got one in my truck and love it!

mn, I see you've got a 2005 and the JL is good up to 2004. Oh well, might still be worth a look.

It's not the year that's the difference... From 1998 - 2005, they're exactly the same.

That stealthbox is for a 4 door only (I already mentioned that )
I only have two doors... Smaller cargo area.

I doubt it. That sounds like a good estimate for wood. I would just make it out of MDF. You can dimension it how you want, and just leave it sealed. It will kick just fine in a 2 door blazer even if it isn't ported. Then just cover it in carpet.

Noo that's wood.. I wouldn't put carpet over fiberglass lol
