Port some old school heads. Flat top pistons. Aluminum intakes are a dime a dozen. Build a quadrajet to put on top of it or a 4 barrel 650. Throw a cam in it and your almost at your goal.

I was trying not to get my hopes too high. Besides, the get that out of the Ford 351 I have in the garage would cost more. That is why I figured three grand was a good deal.

Hell when I had my 83 Monte Carlo SS I had a shop build my 350 with 400hp and it cost me a total of $2500 for them to build it and put it in! 30 over, cam, stock heads with a little work (not ported or polished) stock crank and rods non rolled stock lifters stock distributor and a edelbrock intake with a carter 650 carb on top. That was it. And still got 17mpg at 70 turning 2000 rpm.
