The GMC and Chevy brand trucks are outselling everything else they make by far. I think they are smarter than we give them credit for. High content vehicles are high profit vehicles.
But badge engineering can only get you so far. They need to be spending their money on NEW product development, not warmed over seconds IMHO.
Then get rid of Buick, too... The Lucerne is a knock-off of the DTS, the Regal is an import from overseas.. could easily be a Chevy product.. the Enclave is a badge-engineered Traverse / Acadia.. the Lacrosse is another overseas import that could easily be a Chevy..
At least these days when most manufacturers do their badge engineering, they
usually change up the sheet metal and some of the content. Back when an Escalade looked almost
exactly like a Suburban with a badly-done front fascia replacement... That was bad badge engineering, IMO...
