Already have internal leaks in the rails, and the reverse flow heads are already leaking boost. The reverse heads were supposed to be the best thing since sliced bread and it turns out they aren't lol...

Interesting...

Interesting tid-bit from the comments:

Both trucks are going to come from a Chevy dealer and a Ford dealer - brand new. I want the dealers to notarize that nobody (e.g. Ford or GM) has touched the trucks since they came off the transport to the lot. The trucks will have similar odometer readings and will be broken in at the same time before the test.

No matter WHO does the comparison, the fanboys for each side will declare victory. It's just how it works... and BOTH will stubbornly be convinced they are right.

Make no difference in the real world. People will buy their favorite anyway.

I like how GM actually brought in two magazines to prove they didn't mess with either trucks and the testing is fair.

Being a Ford guy, I still think if I was going diesel I would go with the duramax or the cummins before the powerstroke.

I really don't see the point in the compairson anyway. PUtrucks.com just did an insanely in depth review of all the new HD offerings in gas/diesel/SRW/and DRW form.

Ford won the gas, GM won the diesel.

I don't understand what this "new" shootout will show that hasn't already been played out.

BUT...after seeing how well the new HD review was done, you cannot argue with PUTrucks.com They are very methodical.

This test is funny. 3HP and 35 ft-lbs, I'd be willing to bet $100 that nobody on the forum can tell the difference in 3HP when you're in the 400hp range. Less than 1% difference who cares. The test that matters is long term reliability which is what diesels have always been known for. That's a test that ford really needs to win because they have certainly dropped the ball their on their diesels lately.

Either way the test pans out my first choice in a diesel will always be the one that's being excluded

i am with the beast. who cares.. it comes down to 1. being a fanboy and buying along party lines, or 2. deciding what one fits your needs..

in my book
are you worried about looks? dodge is out,
worried about engine durability or modding? Ford is out in my book..
worried about huge wheel-wells ? then Chevy is out..

i am looking at a 08 dodge dually because i love the cummins and the mega-cab/SB look with the rear fenders has really grown on me..

to each their own i say..

At the game on Sat there was a new mega-cab dually Dodge Cummins 2500 (3500?) parked across from me. It was a pretty sweet looking truck!

betcha $20 it was a 3500

P.S. Since this is now a chevy only thing does anyone know when it will actually happen? There are only 2 possible outcomes, option 1 Chevy loses in almost every category and pays off the magazines to not publish articles thus we never hear of the tests again; option 2 chevy wins and is published in every magazine in the world (including playboy for both of you that read the articles) and we never hear the end of it.

At the end of the day here is how it breaks down, Ford has the best looking HD truck, Chevy has the best tranny with an adequate motor, Dodge has the best motor.

When all is said and done my next truck will be a diesel, it will all come down to which one still offers a manual with the diesel.

:skull:
