You betcha
Snagged this from Tech..... Pony wars are in full swing! :wookie:

Even with the 100-hp increase, the 2013 GT500 will still not match the technology and sophistication of the 2012 Camaro ZL1.

Al O.

  "we made a tactical error on this launch. We need the marketing dept in full spin mode!"

Mustang playing catch up? Give me a break
Well of course no Ford guy is ever going to admit that. Hell, if it had 3000 horsepower the Ford guys would not admit defeat... so why should the Camaro guys?

It all improves the pony cars! Good for all of us!

Mustang playing catch up? Give me a break

2010 Camaro 3.6L V6 = 312 HP and 278 ft/lbs of torque
2010 Mustang 4.0L V6 = 210 HP and 240 ft/lbs of torque
2011 Mustang 3.7L V6 = 305 HP and 280 ft/lbs of torque

2010 Camaro 6.2L V8 = 426HP and 420 ft/lbs of torque
2010 Mustang 4.6L V8 = 315 HP and 325 ft/lbs of torque
2011 Mustang 5.0 V8 = 412 HP and 380 ft/lbs of toruqe

Looks like they had some catching up to do... Which they did, with a vengance.
Especially since the 'stang is 300 - 400 lbs lighter.

Camaro????

Ford has been very successful with the Mustang since 2005. Chevrolet had to do something to catchup. So they stuff more HP in a box and claim Mustang needs to catchup? Mustang has been increasing HP every year since 2005 even without the Camaro. Sounds like chest pounding to me.

As does the above explanation. Until 2011 there wasn't much if any upward movement in horsepower. Once the Camaro came out, Ford had to play catch up and did it well. It's just part of the game.

We all have our favorites. I'm a GM fan but I like the Mustang better than the Camaro.

That 4.0 in 2010 was AFTER horsepower increases? How fWONking slow was it?

The Mustang has always been a good seller :)

Exterior looks awesome but the inside of them is fucking ugly, even worse in person, it looks cheap as hell and the dash looks like an afterthought with gross guages. And they're hard as heck to see outta.

I wonder where GM is hiding the lead ingots in that ZL1 ... I mean c'mon ... over 4000 lbs?!

There's absolutely no reason why a Camaro should weigh 1000 lbs. more than the Corvette.

I have an AWD 5-Dr. Turbocharged car and it's 800 lbs. less than the Camaro, with another drive axle and 13" brakes (and no fancy two piece rotors either!)

The interior KILLED the Camaro for me ... I LOVE the exterior, LOVE the sound, LOVE the way they drive, but I don't want to be transported back to the 1980s when I get in it. My Subaru is bad enough.
