Cabin air filter - 99 GMC C3500

Does anyone have any idea where the cabin air filter is located on a 1999 GMC C3500 dually? I've looked and I'm darned if I can find one, and the owners manual doesn't mention it, but Napa and other parts places all list one for it.

I doubt if mine has ever been replaced, and I notice that my blower isn't putting out as much airflow as it should be (yes, it's running at all the right speeds) so I suspect that there's 11 years worth of crud in the filter, but I can't find it.

Look under the sound sheild passenger side(this is after the sound shield is removed:

Three screws (the one by the hump is a S.O.B.)and you'll see a "clip"(2 -1/4" screw heads to remove it. I'll add the ONLY damn socket I didn't own THEN)

They'll probably be as nasty as that(8 years of crap).

Don't forget to get the ones with :quote:backing soda:quote:. I did.

I just looked... To get mine out the floor mounted fire extinguisher needs to come out, as well as the CB and the two control boxes for the lights, and that's before I can get to the screws for the cover...

You must not have a lower cover on your dash. I heard some trucks never had the cover. :dunno: But yeah, the cover is the hard part, then just take out one screw and pop a clip/bracket down and the door flips down. Be sure to lay a trash bag across your floor cuz lots of dirst and other debris will com falling out. Heres how bad mine looked compared to a new one.
