David, most pneumatic tools can be repaired easily. It's finding the right parts. Most of what goes wrong with them are the "O" rings wear out, or a driver/piston breaks. A pawnshop is also a good place to look for a used one, and they will normally let you try it out before you buy it. I myself, just buy new, and I buy Senco. They take a beating, and they're a piece of cake to repair.
Wouldn't be so bad if it was once a year. I mean you would thing that if you oiled it like you were suppose to you wouldn't have any issues...
