David, most pneumatic tools can be repaired easily. It's finding the right parts. Most of what goes wrong with them are the "O" rings wear out, or a driver/piston breaks. A pawnshop is also a good place to look for a used one, and they will normally let you try it out before you buy it. I myself, just buy new, and I buy Senco. They take a beating, and they're a piece of cake to repair.

The only air nailers that I will ever buy are Hitachi...

I have had Senco nailers and for some reason everyone that uses them here and for myself we had to change the "O" rings once a month... This may be due to the extreme heat. :dunno: Wouldn't be so bad if it was once a year. I mean you would thing that if you oiled it like you were suppose to you wouldn't have any issues...

So far so good with the Hitachi's. I have had them over a year and haven't needed to do anything to them other than oil them...

I have a Hitachi Framing, Finish and staple nailers.

I have bought them used before from the Pawn shop and gotten a good deal too.

I have a Senco SNS41 stapler that I use for siding. I bought it in '05, and just recently had to change the "O" rings in it. You mentioned heat, perhaps if you're not using them daily, the rings did dry out. Over oiling any tool can shorten it's life span to. :dunno:

Just picked up a SureBonder 9773 locally, guy used it once and sold it to me for $75 (these are normally $150+ new).

Have you found yours yet David?
