Was driving back from the grocery store when the truck made a funny 'shift' out of O/D, only to have "TRANS FAULT" pop up on the display and the O/D light start blinking a few seconds later.

I tried scanning for a code using the ScanGaugeII and even my Xcal3, but both report back "No DTC Codes Found".

All I can say right now is that 1st and R appear to be gone, so it looks like I'm in the market for a new tranny. Suggestions?

Might just be something small like a loose electrical connection somewhere :dunno:

It does sound electrical since it happened out of the blue. Mechanical trans issues tend to give you clues before they quit.

Spend a hundred bucks and get its scanned/confirmed at the dealer, or good trans shop, then start shopping. :)

You betcha
You gonna replace it yourself or have a shop do it? Do you have a 4r70 or 4r75? I would go aftermarket and get something built for those big tires.

it has to be a loose connection somewhere, or it would have probably started to feel sloppy or abnormal before hand
