I'd go by TXDOT and pick up one of their booklets. I bet the rules are published in a handout.

You'll need the TARE and GVWR of the vehicle visible on both sides of the truck... I'm pretty sure, anyway... That seems to be a general rule of commercial vehicles.

I've heard of hot shot drivers too. Big money to be made doing it too. As far as this site goes Bernie is the one to talk to as far a DOT.

There`s good money in it if you find a good customer base, and deliver ON TIME! Don`t get lost, that`s typically bad :lol:. Any ways Best bet for legal responsibility is to go to an state inspection location (scales or official head office) and ask questions, would be best to get some documentation. I know here the rules are ever changing, but its good to show willing-ness to conform to the laws, and making a friend inside who could answer your questions is a bonus.

There may very well be a state website that could help you out as well. :)
