I have never heard of a hotshot driver other than something we had internally at work. I wish I could be more helpful.

On a side note, we need to see some pics of your BAMF truck!

:welcome: 2 :tmc:

I didn't have a clue what a hot shot driver was, but now I do and I wish I could help but have no experience in this area.

I use to work for a trucking company as a mechanic, my father in law drives rigs and believe it or not my mom use to drive trucks too and I've never heard of a "hot shot" driver.

Just because some of you have never heard of it doesn't mean it doesn't exist. I mean just yesterday I saw a pink unicorn on my way to work.:D

I have heard of it. It is very popular around the oil industries. Trucks and trailers can make it to the camps a lot easier than semi's. My buddie and I have been talking about this lately. I know there is a lot of money to be made in the PA Natural Gas industry. Like 5k+ a week. I know they like class A drivers with experience. I heard a little tip that you can use magnetic door signs. That way you only have to log your time hauling. Once unloaded you can remove the signs and drive to your next spot as a non-commercial truck. It's shady but if you need or desire to make more money than the DOT regualtions will allow thats one way to do it.
