That's not going to happen, people can't be held responsible for not knowing what to do in an emergency.
Um, yes..sort of.

Hell it was one of the things tought in drivers ed here 20 years ago here. I still remember it.

In the instance a vehicle's accelerater is stuck; turn off the engine, stick the transmission in neutral, and slowly pull off the road into the soft shoulder(where applicable). Hell is common sense.

In case you guys don't see it... I am playing the Devil's advocate here a bit. Obviously I don't think everybody is an idiot. I'm sure there are a few that are not!

It's nuts that people don't take the time to actually learn how to properly operate a multi-thousand pound possible deadly weapon before they launch it.

Turning off the engine is a bad idea. You will lose power steering and vac assist for the brakes.

Put it into neutral, hell, you won't even harm the engine since modern engines have rev limiters.

Guess I did't convey my tone too well on that. I think people should be held somewhat responsible, but the liberals controlling everything won't let that happen. I don't remember shit I learned in drivers ed and that was 8 years ago. Just remember I was the only one in the car that didn't hop curbs parallel parking or slam the pedals down.

I'll have to agree. Many would lose control for sure if they lost power assist. Neutral and hit the brakes.

True, but it is much harder to steer a car that has non-functional PS than one that never had it.
