Anitfreeze Leak - 98 K1500 Silverado

Mine was the same. I went over a week losing almost no coolant, then lost over a quart in 2 days doing the same amount of driving every day. I finally saw it one day seeping from the weep hole in the water pump. It is hard to see unless its basically pissing out coolant.

you got the votec v8? have you had to add antifreeze everytime you change oil? if so your intake gaskets maybe leaking!! those are know to go out every 80K or around there. take a good light and look up at the back of the block were the intake meets the bloke. if you are using the dexcool antifreeze you lookin fo a orangish brown leak trail runnin down the block. if you antifreeze is green then your lookin for a greenish leakin trail. also check the front of the block too. i had to put some in the 97silverado when i had it at 180k and i know the last guy done it at around 90k.

a buddy of mine fwanked up his motor cause it didnt leak out of the intake were it seals to the block. but rather into the crankcase. he was always adding antifreeze.

or you had a little overflow?

Thanks for the info guys. Seemed to only leak on Christmas and hasn't leaked the last two days although I've been driving it. I'll keep an eye on it though.

Sure you didn't run down an elf? Elf blood is probably that color.

Get under the truck with a flash light at night to check weep hole maybe you might be able to see it better. Pressure check it maybe a auto parts store might have one that you can use.
