The only way on a GMT400 is wheel adaptors unless you get a 2500/3500 14 bolt rear axle with 8 lugs and go SAS up front. You can't swap 3/4 wheels hubs to a 1/2 ton and there are no 8 lug wheels hubs for a 1/2 ton.

8 lug was on the HD trucks. You'd have to change a LOT of stuff.

Only gmt400 HD was a 10 lug truck and only offered as a cab and chassis without a bed.

Yes there is 8 lug wheel hubs for a 1/2 ton truck.

No one said no one made them, he was stating that he believed they never came from the factory that way.

He didnt specify on what he was referring to.

Dave,

Why do you want to change the brakes?

So you won't have to look at them again? I am referring to your lack of inspection, and that brake issue you just spent money on. You just spent that money fixing them, didn't you? Why would you throw that money out the window? You have proven to be a frugal shopper, so I am just curious about these things.

I never said i wanted to change my brakes. I probably do this conversion inthe future. Its not gonna happen anytime soon. I'll probably do it when I lift the truck whenever that will be. Just acquiring info on this conversion for now.

Is there some reason for doing such a thing?

Bigger brakes for better braking.

Is it really that hard to stop your 1/2 ton? I have no problems stopping mine. Buy some good break pads and rotors and you will be fine and save you a lot of hassle and time.

I never said my 1/2 ton was hard to stop.

I was assuming since you said bigger brakes for better braking, that you were having trouble stopping. Call me crazy, but why else would you want bigger brakes if the ones you had were working just fine? :dunno:

It's your truck, do what you want. But I think most of us agree, it's not worth the time or money to do it. Your benifits will be very minimal if any.

I'll believe it when I see them on a half ton.
I think it's a mistake on the website. I mean come on you think there's actually a high enough demand of people wanting to do this swap that there is a manufactured part for it?
