I was speaking engine. Just engine. The 240hp is the engine rating, at the flywheel.

If you take said engine from a Continental, then put it in a Silverado, and then turn around and shove in a boat...it still has the same HP at the flywheel.

Sure, a lighter vehicle would yield a faster 1/4 time (gear ratio, etc permitting) but that is just power to weight ratio.

If the engine is untouched, nothing has been done to change the power at the flywheel.

I may have misunderstood your post about that, but that is how I took it.
Yea you got what im saying...yes it be the same exact engine no matter what its put in-but heavy or lighter will produce diffrent results.

But don't let that get you down...Iv seen some unbuildable/would'nt think be good to do-rods in my day that has yeilded great results. My bro had a 80s model cutless and built a 307 and ran high 12 in it. So hey-you got a 460-and its all in how/what you do with what you got. You can have the biggest could be baddest all around engine and turn it into a turd-or take a not so ideal engine and out do bout anything else. There is always someone faster...well at least til you get the fastest-lol. Go for it bro-im waiting to see progress.

If you cant have the truck you love, love the truc

I didnt read anything about making a 1/4 mile dragster. If he wants a big truck that he can throw some mud and have fun in then there is nothing wrong with his 460. It would do a fine job and would whoop over half the trucks on here. :loser:

True your right-he did'nt mention building a 1/4 dragster...But comparing apples with apples we were just using those thoughts in line with hp/torque which is what he is after-thats all. But heak ya 460 throw some mud thats for sure and i would'nt turn away a 460 regradless strip/mud-it work great in either.
