Please don't make me read all 13 pages Dave. Post #1 started off just a tad wrong, no wonder it ended up in the FAIL thread, then the more I read......... So is your truck fixed or not? I'll do my duty to society and.......

Why in the hell would you need to go and get a pressure test kit if you smell the coolant in the exhaust??? Were you wanting to get a glass to catch it as it come out the tailpipe to confirm bad head gasket or cracked head? You'd have to fill the muffler and cat first you know before it started spilling out the tailpipe. That might take awhile. And NO, it's not your intake gaskets if it's coming out your exhaust, and yes you have replaced your intake gaskets before and it wasn't that long ago. Didn't you have the spider assembly for the SFI upgraded? The spider assembly is under the intake, so it had to come off to replace those and the intake gaskets would have been replaced then you think???

Sounding to me like all you need is a water pump where the weep hole is leaking from a rusted or wore out bearing race. Damn good thing those Briggs and Stratons are Air cooled ehhh buddy??? :dunno:

No I havent replaced the lower intake gasket yet. I replaced the upper intake gasket when I replaced and switched multi port spider injection. I have a 2 piece intake.

Ahhhh OK. I figured it would be common sense if you have it tore down that far to do both upper and lower. Kinda like when you replace a timing cover gasket, you replace your front seal too whether it leaks or not.

Water Pump done yet? It's not your lower intake gasket leaking. Chances are the whole problem is the water pump, unless you overheated the motor and blew the head gasket too. So have you figured out yet, why it quite loseing coolant after 1.5 quarts???

I know you enjoy giving Dave a hard time but all the answers are in this thread already. He's had the water pump changed and his problem is fixed.

Thanks for letting me know I didn't read all 13 pages. I wasn't trying to give him a hard time, he gets enough of that here. I just do that when he comes to GMSB.

Living out there in the sticks and having an older high mileage vehicle, you should consider getting you another back up vehicle Dave. Do I dare ask what ever happened with that Ford?

He found some wheels a while back and was trying to figure out the type of vehicle they came off of so he could buy it. Don't know what happened to that one. :dunno:

Been down that road with him too. Trying to figure out what a $5 rusted up wheel went to so he could sell it on CL.

He needs to get him an older very basic non computer controlled truck that's cheap on parts, easy to work on, not very complicated and that's easy to get parts for.
