Good pics. How do you like the AEV lift? It's on my short list (along with MetalCloak and Rock Krawler). Are you running the stock driveshafts with the 3.5"?

I really like the AEV lift. This is my fifth JK, all of which had different suspensions on them, both long arm and short arm. This suspension has the best handling and the best ride quality of them all. If I were building another JK today, it would have an AEV suspension on it.

Yes, I'm using the stock driveshafts.

That is pretty consistent from what others are telling me as well. I think you just made the decision for me.

Now I just need to decide on 2.5" or 3.5". I'm putting 35s on right away and will be keeping the stock fenders until Spring. I'm putting on GenRight flat fenders in the spring so my concern is that the 35s may look too small with 3.5" and flat fenders. And I don't have any interest in 37s.

Thoughts?

I had a 2.5" long arm and a 2.5" short arm suspension with 35s, and a 2.5" short arm with 37s and flat fenders. For a 2.5" lift the long arms are not worth it. Comparing my 2.5" suspension lifts with this 3.5" suspension lift I have to say I like the 3.5" lift more because of the extra inch of up travel before hitting the bumpstops. It will absorb bigger hits, which makes for a much nicer ride. I wouldn't do 35s with a 3.5" lift and flat fenders though, because the gap above the tire is going to be too much. I would recommend a 2.5" lift, but only minimal extension of bump stops, and flat fenders so you don't have any tire rub.

Amazing photos. I'm always fascinated by these kinds of thread coz I wanted to build my ride too.
