I drove four V8 JKs before making my decision. I drove a BOR 4-door JK with a 5.7 Hemi in it, and thought it was nice, but not all that impressive for power. I drove a BOR 2-door JK with a 6.4 Hemi in it, and was very impressed. That Jeep got up and went, in a big way. I drove a Motech 4-door JK with a 5.3 GM in it, and was not that impressed. I also drove a Motech 4-door JK with a 6.2 GM in it, and wasn't that impressed with it either. They were all better than stock, but only the 6.4 Hemi really inspired me.
So after deciding to go with the 6.4, the next decision was, which company to go with.
I like the fact that AEV uses an OEM computer tune that can be reset by any Jeep dealer in the country. I didn't like the custom tune from BOR that would require more effort to get reprogrammed if there were problems.
I thought AEV did better quality work, with more attention to detail. BOR tends to take too many shortcuts, like not hooking up all four O2 sensors, etc. I've heard bad things about customer service after the sale with BOR, and I haven't with AEV.
This is my second vehicle purchase from AEV. The first was a 2000 TJ with a stretched wheelbase. I knew what AEV's quality is like, so I chose them.
