The Jeep section is slow right now, so I'm going to start a thread on my 2013 JK build. This is my fifth JK, and for this one I wanted to focus on performance and handling. I want this Jeep to function as both a daily driver and a vehicle for exploring the southwest USA on weekends. And I want it to be capable as well as a whole lot of fun to drive.

I ordered a 2013 JK Unlimited Rubicon on March 17th. It had the usual Rubicon features like power windows, air conditioning, navigation, and leather seats. Here is the time line so far.

3/17/13 Ordered from Classic Motors in Richfield, Utah.
4/13/13 Production finished - Jeep shipped to AEV in Wixom, Michigan.
4/15/13 Arrived at AEV's facility - long wait ensued while waiting for engine wiring harness

6/17/13 AEV begins there conversion process, and will install a 3" lift, 35" tires, AEV wheels, and a 6.4 Hemi

Here are some pictures from the last two days work at AEV.

Stay tuned, hopefully this will be interesting.

AEV does do some nice stuff, they even make some "factory" parts for Jeep, but the only vendor in DFW for their parts is Starwood Motors. Home of the $140K Wrangler.

AEV is actually very good at working with dealerships. The dealership I bought from had never sold an AEV Jeep when I contacted them about it, but said that they thought they could do anything that any other dealership could do. They contacted AEV, got the drop ship code they needed, and everything was taken care of in a day. I ordered the Jeep I wanted from the dealership I wanted, and Chrysler shipped it directly to AEV from the factory. I paid my dealership for the Jeep, and I pay AEV for their work. Chrysler warrants their part, and AEV warrants their part. Its a pretty slick set up.

I'm using the AEV Pintler wheels, in the argent color, it goes real well with that olive drab color of the Jeep.
