I know my Burban actually can legally only seat 8, since it only has 8 seatbelts. The other day I was in Gulfport Mississippi visiting one of my brothers. We drove from his house to s Waterpark with 5 adults and 5 kids all seated in the Burban. While they were slightly cramped, everyone was sitting next to each other, nobody on top of anybody else.

The Sienna is a very nice vehicle and will easily get 25 mpg on the road. The Sienna and Odyssey are the ONLY two vehicles in that class even worth a look. I prefer the drive of the Honda but the Toyota is a great vehicle.

As much as I hate to admit it, it is a far better vehicle for multiple kids than a Suburban. Anybody putting several kids (plus car seats, strollers, etc) in a vehicle every time they go somewhere will appreciate the sliders... BIG TIME.

Slider doors are worth every penny, especially when you have to enter and exit in the pouring rain and with your arms full of kids.:)

Although I much prefer the Suburban as a people hauler, a minivan is gold to a mom with a few little kids. The Sienna and Odyssey are actually pretty cool vehicles these days. Not at all like the minivans of old.

My thing with minivans is how you'd fit people AND cargo? I mean it works well for either or. :dunno:

The neighbor lady has a 'burban and she fits her 4 kids, 2 adults and all their shit. But only 1 is in a car seat now, so the lack of sliders aren't as big a deal.

I own a Sienna. I bought it for my specific needs. The slider doors are great plenty of door opening to get stuff in/out. The rear lid is large also. Plenty of rear storage

Since you have the General, you can get away with a minivan. AND get the benefit of great gas mileage. But since I don't have a truck, my Suburban doubles as a truck AND a family hauler. Try towing a travel trailer or a boat with a minivan, you can't. But like I said, you will have a separate tow pig for that, so you can have the best of both worlds.

Best of both worlds would be a Chevy Express Passenger Van :jester:
