It was only a few days ago that GM let it be known to the world that the Camaro, not the Mustang, would be the official pace car for the Daytona 500. But it is one thing to see a car sitting pretty on the showroom floor. The pace car Camaro has an important role to fulfill in the long history of the Daytona 500, and it has to look as good on the track as it does in the showroom.
Well rest assured, the Daytona 500 pace car Camaro fulfills its duties to the fullest extent. Camaro5 came across these spy shots from KGP Photography of GM testing the Daytona 500 pace car. It wears that light bar well.

At the Barrett-Jackson auction over the weekend, GM showed off the 2011 Camaro Coupe Daytona 500 pace car. Beneath the pace car trim and light bar though is the latest iteration of GM’s “Synergy Series” Camaros. Painted in the aptly-named Victory Red, the pace car showcases some of the stand out features of Synergy Series Camaros.

The Synergy Series is equal parts performance improvements and enhanced exterior effects. A dovetail spoiler, ground effects package, 21-inch wheels, and a Pedders lowering kits give the Camaro an even sleeker profile while improving performance in the corners. The LS3 engine is untouched (save for a red engine cover) and a Hurst shifter kicks the transmission up a notch. Brembo brakes with red calipers come on the 2SS package, though the Synergy package can be had with the LT V6 models and RS Package as well. We’re pretty sure GM has to offer a limited production pace car for public consumption at this point. The question is, will you buy if/when they do?

I couldn't agree more.
:puke:

I agree about the wheels, but idk about the exhaust tip trim housings, I kinda kinda like them on there. If they were embedded tips shaped like that, and polished, it would look pretty dang sweet too maybe.
