My neighbor had a 2006 like that. He worked at a rental equipment place and it was one of the trucks used to pull the goose neck trailer.. I think he bought it with 80k miles about 5 years ago for 25k. The truck had 260k miles on it. The list is long of things needing replaced and he expresses how he put more money into the truck to get it to 260k then what he paid for it.

He traded it on a 2011 CC Chevy Duramax 3500hd 4X4 a week after I got mine. I think he got $8000 for it on trade...

I think that is a far price indeed.

Hopefully your buddy can have good luck with it...

As long as it's not the 6.0L he'll be fine. Good lookin truck!

Your an idiot. Stay in your Lil f150 area.

and by "area" you mean...? lol I was simply giving my advice. If I offended you somehow I apologize. I only said that because I've heard multiple people with the 6.0L who've had the same problems with them. Not saying that this guy will but I thought it would be nice to give him a heads up

if it was a lariat the price would be spot on. for an XLT its high. but then again it looks like its a t a dealer which would explain that.

just make sure he does his homework and drive it on the highway and do some WOT and then check the coolant tank. if no puking then its a good start. if its got puking then RUN away or ask for 5K extra off up front

I bet the "people that had issues" also were not so good with the scheduled maint. probably went from a Gasser to a diesel and didn't get smart on the difference.

Do you own one? no so you have no idea what it is like or what to expect.

internet is internet and i have heard tons of horror stories about just about every vehicle. i put 25K hard miles on my truck after i bought it with 103K and never had an issue.

T bet you believe ford had Zero money loaned to them as GM and Mopar did? I read that on the interwebz but it isn't true.

the blanket statement you made just pisses me off. hence why i said what i said.

Dave, You're an Idiot! :jester:

this i know.

Well for starters if he maintained it partly like a gasser it would be maintained more frequently being that the service intervals are more stretched out with Diesel trucks... My neighbor owns a Landscape business and maintains all his vehicles like they should be. His Ford F450 PS 7.3 never had a issue. Neither his cummins or chevy's. He is a good ole boy who has always been a Ford man but has more Chevy's now then anything else...

Maybe I don't own one. But I was in charge of the maintenance on a 2004 Ford 450 PS with the 6.0 for 6 years... It had a lot of the same issues and I followed all of the recommended suggestions from for to have it maintained... I tried to tell them that it was a lemon and they needed to buy it back at 20k before the warranty was up and they assured me at the dealership that there are a lot of issues from this motor. Ford is working on this and assured me it would not continue when the truck was out of warranty... The owner of the company would never let us get close to the limit of what the truck was capable to do...

Similar issues with the F650 that they had that I also was in charge of and it was a shame.

I am not trying to say that all the 6.0's are bad but I would be leery when purchasing one..

Have you looked at the service records to your truck? Has anything been done to it?

Oasis came back with minor stuff.

Brian I wasn't talking to you. Your familiar with diesels. Going off of past expierence is way different then Internet gospel.

The miles divided by engine hours puts my truck at about 42 miles an hour average for the engine. That makes the most difference in my opinion. Very little idle time and soot buildup.
