Coolant Temperature Sensor(CTS)? If the PCM thinks it's cold it might send more fuel to the injectors.

Is this a 1st or Second Gen Explorer?

Another thing to think about is this might be a closed fuel system with no return lines. I can't remember which generations this would be for but not only is there a FPR on the fuel rail but also a Fuel pressure Dampener that is mounted to the fuel pump assembly inside the tank.

Well isn't that poo. At least GM put them on the rails on the LS'.

OP,
Can you check your fuel pressure?

I will check fuel pressure in the morning .
Didn't know that they might have a Fuel pressure Dampener ??
I've never seen a NOID light light up so bright before though .
I wouldn't think CTS would matter on a cold start ( altho that has been checked) Trying to rule out everything .
I hate not being able to figure out the problem after 2 days of messing with something
Tomorrow will be day 3 ....

I just find it hard to believe that the problem is just too much fuel. But if this is the case, you know what to check.

If there was too much fuel, you should be able to pull the fuel pump fuse and get it to fire. Then you will know you are right on that.

I personally am inclined to think that you have a firing issue and not a fuel problem.

I don't understand why, but I would only think you would have too much fuel if there was a problem FPR or FPD that would send information to the ECM to have the injectors dump more fuel... But then again, I would like to think that thought process would be canceled out because both the FPR or FBD works on vacuum. I might have just confused myself...

I have about 62 PSI fuel pressure .
It will start momentarily with fuel pump disconnected but floods out immediately when reconnected .

I dont know what is spec, but that seems high.

I still think its the fuel pressure regulator.

Any idea as to find out what the voltage the injectors are supposed to get? If your light is super bright then maybe something is telling the injectors to put more fuel in than needed, which seems to be the case.

Could bad 02 sensors cause this? Just throwing out ideas.

You took the intake off, so any vacuum leaks should have been corrected when you put it back on.
