Got my shipment notifications. Still waiting on two amp kits to ship that I bought on Amazon. Figured I'd get another one for the amp I have now since I'm relocating it to the back wall.

Scheduled delivery of box: Jan 11, with a weight of 30.0 lbs.
Scheduled delivery of everything else: Jan 12, with a weight of 48.0 lbs.

Almost 80 lbs of stuff coming my way. :D

If the amp kits come in before next Saturday that's when I'll plan the installation. Going to rip off the last part of the back wall today and probably go buy the board to mount it all on. In the meantime I've been removing the built-up dog hair. With the seats in place and the Weathertech mat down I had no idea it built up so much underneath where I couldn't clean it. This is all build-up from the time I brought her home to now, which has only been about six months.:eek:

Wikipedia said:
The Siberian Husky's coat is thicker than most breeds of dogs[6], comprising two layers: a dense undercoat and a longer topcoat of short, straight guard hairs. It protects the dogs effectively against harsh Arctic winters, but the coat also reflects heat in the summer. It is able to withstand temperatures as low as −50 °C to −60 °C.[7] The absence of the undercoat is often present during shedding.
:(
Twice a year, Siberians "blow" their undercoats, that is, they shed their undercoats completely. It is a very intense shedding period that can last three weeks or more from start to finish.

It's amazing what some static electricity and a rubber glove will do. Now I just need to vacuum the smaller hairs out. Don't mind the wiring--it looked better before I started ripping stuff apart. :naughty: It was all under the seats, anyway. Hopefully none will be visible when I'm done. Another reason I want to relocate the amp--keep it away from dog hair.

I've found one problem that I need to fix, though. My right component doesn't work without the amp being connected. It was weird but then I found that the speaker wire I tapped into got cut into a little bit last time I put the door sill trim back on. I'll need to add a new section of wire in there.

50/50 shot. Need to vacuum out the smaller hairs. Or wrap my fist in duct tape. Big improvement, though.

John did you clean it all out or have someone do it? I'm curious if there's a trick to getting these small hairs out besides the duct tape. I have a cordless hand vac and it's pretty strong, but it doesn't last long enough to do the whole truck. Debating buying a corded.

I honestly did it the day I drove my truck home. My dad has a sign shop so I used scrap vinyl, but Duct Tape is prolly stronger. You know what I would do, get one of those dog hair rollers. Get as much as you can. We have a few shop vacs so that helped too.

I thought about that but a roll of tape is cheaper. :D

They don't make duct tape like they used to, and the only stuff Wal-Mart had when I looked was the kind that wasn't very sticky. Got a whole roll of clear packing tape, though. I'll see how it works later today.

Everything is scheduled to come in by the end of next week, so if all goes well I can install it Saturday.

Well everything is coming in over the next few days.

I am definitely keeping the Type R comps up front, but may end up replacing the amp that powers them anyway. I was disconnecting it yesterday to clean it out and accidentally touched the + and - wires while the - was still connected.

Of course it made the usual array of sparks for a split second, but when I reconnected it, it wasn't working. I checked both the fuse at the battery and the external fuse on the amplifier. They were both fine. It's like it tries to come on because the blue LED flashes, but it can't quite get there. I'm going to check it out later today.

Do you still have the remote wire attached to power?
