If everyone includes the po-pos I'd go for a new truck.

EcoBoost Torture Test - Nascar Track Testing

Agreed, something definitely seems off there but I will give them benefit of the doubt until I see it myself. I had a Gen III Ram with the hemi which made less power than the newer ones and I can't fathom a V-6 with 100 turbos being able to out pull that thing by that much. That thing was an...

    MSC?

Cool, it's really not a huge deal since I technically own an LLC but some places are kind of picky about what constitutes an individual vs a business and my LLC doesn't qualify as a business since it does an annual gross sales of $0.

EcoBoost Torture Test - Nascar Track Testing

Haven't driven one yet but they certainly have the best sounding factory exhaust I've heard.

What type of work do you do in your shop?

I really love woodworking but it seems to take more patience than I have, so does metal to a point but if metal turns out ugly I slap a coat of paint on it and call it done. Plus it's way more manly feeling to be throwing sparks around. Someday I will have a large enough garage to have...

What type of work do you do in your shop?

At your home garage/shop what do you do mostly? Work on cars, metal fab, woodworking, something else? If you do it all which do you prefer? My garage sees a little bit of everything but I would say at this point it is predominantly metal fab. If the price of materials (both metal and wood) keep...

Sounds good, I will look into them a little more. That place is like the Walmart of industrial supplies.

EcoBoost Torture Test - Nascar Track Testing

I drove a Ford with the new 6.7 not too long ago and they seriously hit that one out of the park. If I could afford the truck I looked at it would be in my driveway now. I have always joked around with my buddy who's a ford guy saying that they make great looking trucks if only they could figure...

Does McMaster sell to individuals or only businesses? I can order things through work (we even have one of the infamous yellow bibles there) but I'd prefer to not have the hassle of dealing through dad. My main use for Grainger has been replacing all of the cheap tools I've acquired with higher...

Daughter's Expedition's Rear Diff Exploded **UPDATE It's Done See Post 226**

Not to question your technical expertise but according to my math it requires a metric shit ton of torque to get through the diff cover, so I can confidently say there was significant torque applied to it at least once. :jester:

EcoBoost Torture Test - Nascar Track Testing

I really want to drive one now. That thing looks amazing. Having driven a Dodge with a Hemi it's hard to believe any V-6 TT or not can beat it by 12 secs in 0-60 pulling a trailer, if these things really do last they will be unbeatable. Only thing is that it will be the top of the line motor in...

    Northern Tool

Maybe it's a convenience thing, we don't have one anywhere near here so there's no convenience for me to just stop in if I need something in a hurry. If I'm ordering online I can usually find a similar or better product for the same or close to the same price. I have a HF locally so that's why I...

    MSC?

I know they cater mostly to businesses but has anyone ordered from MSC for personal orders? I have used Grainger in the past because we have a local distributor that has pretty much everything in stock so it saves a bunch of searching but they don't do you any favors on pricing. MSC isn't much...

    Northern Tool

I agree with this. Their house brand tools are about the same as harbor freight but they do have decent prices on some decent tools.

    Harbor Freight Tools

Personally I think their issue isn't a lack of decent tools it's a lack of consistency. You could buy 2 of the same thing there and one could fail the first time you use it and another could last forever. A majority of their hand tools have the same lifetime warranty as other brands.

    Show off your garage/shop/man cave

What are you envious of how clean mine is? Post up a picture anyway. Yeah it's an old Murray 11/36 picked it up for $25 and it's been working great. Little sheet metal repair on the deck that was rotten but other than that no problems with it.

    Show off your garage/shop/man cave

Lets get some pictures of the man caves going. I like seeing how other people have their set up, always manage to get a few ideas from them. I'm sure most have seen mine in it's current state of cluster **** but I will post again anyway. Everything is pulled away from the walls to put up...

    Snap-On Tools?

It's been said already but unless you're using them to make a living the price isn't really worth it. I own a couple snap on ratchets because I have had terrible luck with craftsman ratchets but outside of that there are other brands with the same or nearly the same quality for home use that...

    Harbor Freight Tools

I have bought quite a few things there. I have a set of their deep impact sockets in both metric and standard that work pretty well. 1/2" breaker bar works fine, couple months ago we had a long cheater on it with 3 guys leaning on it and it held up. I don't have the link right now but I read a...

    The Tool Box is Here!

I am a friend that can never afford anything.... whacha got :naughty: I like going to garage and estate sales just to find some older well built tools. There are amazing deals out there if you look hard enough. Now that we have a forum for the tool whores I will let you guys know about my...

Wish I could afford them at home but at $8 for a single socket I will have to pass for now.

    Good buys list

That's not the first time I've heard that about Stanley. Completely different animal but we use almost 100% Proto (top of the line stanley brand) at work and even union ironworkers can't break them.
