We'll be giving the Golf / Jetta / Passat a drive this week. I like their interior designs a lot. German simplicity instead of a zillion idiot buttons like the Japanese have.

We'll see.

I am sure as you and the wife get older that these will become more and more attractive. :p

On another note I'd say the Honda over the mustang. I don't know if it is the 2013 model or 2014 but I was reading about a lot more usable features that Honda will be adding to these cars.

And I am with Tobias. I would more than likely pick a Passat or Jetta over a Honda just about everyday, except Wednesday.

I don't have anything against Buick. They just don't hold their resale value very well. Important if you trade every couple of years.

Driven a Ford lately, including the Mustang?

The Mustang wasn't too bad. The dash layout is pretty good except for the Mattel plastic AC vents. I like simpler cars myself more than the "every fWONking possible unnecessary gizmo addon option" cars. I know the in thing is to buy a car with every possible electronic gadget on it but I just don't care for all of that crap.

I still believe the driver should be involved in driving the vehicle. I know this makes me a dinosaur.

I do appreciate where you are coming from Robert... but I'm way too "plain good old boy" to be a Benz buyer. In fact, the luxo brands really don't tweak me at all. If I wanted to spend north of 35 grand, I'd be shopping Tahoe or Suburban.

I like the sub 30 grand market. The more SUB the better.

Well, I guess that eliminates this BMW 850i from consideration.... :(

Was parking cars for a youth fundraiser at our church on Saturday for the OSU-TCU game and this 2013 drove in.
Impressive....I'm sure the price is rather impressive also....

DAMN, I didn't even realize they'd released those yet. That's 6 digits sitting there I'm sure. :naughty:

What about a VW cc ?
Sweet car. Every one I looked at was 35K and up. Tiguan was nice as well but pricy.

We went Volkswagen driving yesterday. The Jetta is just too small. Nice car. Well priced. Just too small. It makes our Accord seem like a giant.

The Passat is a pretty nice ride. Exterior styling is about as bland as white paint but the interior is first rate all the way except for the vinyl seats (VW calls it V-tex, but it's plastic - not leather). It has HUGE amounts of interior space and the seats are comfy. Power was adequate with the 5 cylinder and road noise was about the same as our Accord. It drives very well. Sadly lots of people on the net are complaining about electrical gremlins and having issues with the doors and deck lid not closing well... and it's too many different people complaining about the same issues to just ignore them.

Our hunt is still on.

The Accord and Outback are still on our short list.
