Not for me, for her... And they seem very practical for our household. She is dead set Tahoe, Yukon, Esky. In that order.

Some ladies just love to crush.

I'd hazard to guess it has better road skills than the Outback as well.

Agreed.

Same platform, just without the added bulk of the 'wagon' part and it rides lower, too.. So, it should be a little more agile on-road..

did you look at the Subaru XV Crosstrek? Or a Chevy Equinox. We got the Equinox and love it so far. But after seeing th XV crosstrek I would just like to see one in person.

We looked at the A3 and the MB GL a couple of weeks ago. I sure do like them both. I just cannot convince the ol' lady.

I love the GLK's except that they look like something Robert would own.

That's just motivation for him. He has a truck that wants to be mine.

I still love our GLK. I really like the redesign for the current model year. I also like the ML. It's a very good size.

I plan on holding on to this GLK for about another year to year and a half. Right now, the ES350 is at the top of our list. Have you looked at them? Plus, Lexus holds resale pretty well.

It can be had close to your price range Jim. A little bit extra now may very well pay off come trade in time. A little more up front cost this time, but it comes closer to evening out in a couple years when you get the next one.

IF I were looking for another SUV-ish style vehicle, I'd at least go give the Acura RDX a drive.. I liked the TSX I had. If it hadn't gotten beat to hell in a hail storm, I probably would've driven it until the wheels fell off (figuratively speaking)..

http://www.acura.com/ModelLanding.aspx?model=RDX

It should handle Costco trips and a grandkid or two with ease.. and I think it would be more "interesting/fun" to drive than an Outback.. :dunno:

I'm not impressed with anything Acura is putting out right now. I gave them a serious look before pulling the trigger on Lauren's. They just do not compete on fit and finish, looks or performance compared to evenly priced equivalents. Talk about loss of resale value the RDX is not good.

I do appreciate where you are coming from Robert... but I'm way too "plain good old boy" to be a Benz buyer. In fact, the luxo brands really don't tweak me at all. If I wanted to spend north of 35 grand, I'd be shopping Tahoe or Suburban.

I like the sub 30 grand market. The more SUB the better.

I'm basing my perspective of Acura solely on the 2004 TSX I had.. I didn't look at them when I bought the Sierra or when I looked at the Outback.. Pretty much, if I hadn't liked the Outback, I would've kept the Sierra.. :dunno:

I fully understand. I was too until I met Lauren. The MB recommendation was more for Scott than you.

I was more suggesting the ES350 for you all, but you're still going to be in the 35 range with it.

I hear you. I was really excited about trying the Acura before I actually tried them.

We tested the TSX, TSX wagon, MDX, and RDX. Not impressed at all. I was very disappointed. A good friend had a 05 TSX that I really liked and that was a lot of the motivation for trying them.

From what I've read, the Crosstrek XV is just a lifted Impreza.. If I were going to get an Impreza, I'd wait for them to update the WRX line with the new Impreza platform..
