Its interesting that you mentioned that. My '12 seems to stop much better than my other 2 GMT900 trucks did. I assumed that it had been 4 years since having a new truck so it was just part of having everything new again.

The new pad material was developed sometime in early 2008.

Gotcha. My '08 was built towards the end of '07 so it sounds like the '12 was the first of my trucks to have them.

That is very possible.
I like the way the new pads stop... Nice and smooth, but good bite on the rotors without having to push the brake pedal real hard.

Yep, you hit the nail on the head with that description. I'm very pleased.

I had the itch to upgrade the pads & rotors on the '08 from day 1 but I've never felt the need on this one.

I like the idea of better grab with less pressure on the pedal.My big-ass burb can always benefit with better brakes especially when I'm towing the toy hauler..:thumbs:
