Your are in luck. I changed my on the same engine two months ago. Stick with motorcraft, they aren't that expensive and they're good plugs. If you have a misfire make sure it isn't a coil as well. I had one COP go bad on cylinder 5 at 145000 miles, but it was a very easy fix. The plugs really arent that bad to change on this engine. Took about a hour and a half. You have to get a little creative sometimes, but as long as you have a few different sizes of extensions and a u joint you'll be fine. Just get a step ladder, if they're hard to get to on mine, I can't imagine yours!

Stay with the Motorcraft plugs, trust me.

Stay with Motorcraft I picked all 8 up at auto zone for $12. I had them changed out in less than an hour. Just pull the fuel rails and you have direct access to all of the plugs and COPs. The back two plugs, I think were the only ones that needed a swivel socket but that was it.

Also Torque them down to 28Ft lbs and put dielectric grease in the cop boots

the 5.4 tritons were the only ones listed on the TSBs for plugs breaking IIRC

You don't have to remove fuel rails..... I didn't, didn't think it was necessary, just another opportunity for me to screw something up lol

It will make the process a lot easier it two bolts per rail, then they just pop off. There is really nothing you can screw up. :)

The old plugs were completely fried, nearly double the gap. The truck is running better than it has on a while, and my OD mis fires have disappeared :)
