I am getting a serious sense o DejaVu with this subject. Weren't you going to make a swap before in search of some mileage? Or maybe you already did, I can't recall

Yes i was and did. But i made the swap to a car. A car is not in the picture this time. I can't stand driving a car.

Hmm.... I would get a smaller truck with a 4 banger and a 5 speed if I was looking for mileage.... Some of those frontiers or exterras look good, and of you can find someone who doesn't think there sr5 4runner or Tacoma isn't heaven sent and want a ton of money that might would be a decent ride.

I'm gonna say an exterra would do better than a jeep on mileage.

If you are going to go with a used Wrangler, I believe the 2002-2006 TJ is the best Jeep ever made. The REAL inline six and a manual trans is awesome. Some early TJs had some issues that were solved after 2001... but the 97 up to 06 TJ is the best Jeep IMHO.

My brother has one and his 5 gear is coming out of gear but he is hell on wheels with it.
