I had the bug to get a Jeep JK and have it set up for some mild off road use. Then reality set in. From what I hear the V6 up to 2011 were not very powerful but the new Pentastar engine is way better. So maybe in a few years as they get more used on the market with that engine things might change.

I feel you don't get a Jeep to increase economy but for the fun factor.

What about the best from a suspension and axles standpoint? I am considering looking for one that needs an LS transplant.

But there are also other engine options to retrofit into a Wrangler, specially if you're looking to increase the mileage
