Getting Cab on Truck Frame Help

I like the idea of jacking it up using boards better than lifting it from above. Might work good if you have 2 jacks.

Regardless of how you do it.....we'll need pics....and don't forget the spoon! :D

I'm still gonna lift it from up top. I'm just making a A-frame out 4x4's.

I'm still gonna lift it from up top. I'm just making a A-frame out 4x4's.

Make sure your cab is supported properly so you don't bend any panels or god forbid the whole cab. I dont recall but I'm assuming the floor boards are in okay condition.
I know on my old '66 Chev the floor boards were bad and when we lifted it( the cab) off, the weakend floor started to buckle and the doors were all that held it from crumpling in half.

Tip: If running straps under cab make sure you use 2x4"s or 2x6"s cut a little longer than cab to run straps along. Keeps all the stress of cab weight on board longitudinally instead of tranfering it to cab floor.

When i did mine i worked for a tire shop. I used our tire truck boom and a cross beam from the telephone poles. Worked good.
