I am looking for a decent soldering Iron for using around the house and car stereo stuff. I like having a butane one, but what is going to be the best bang for my buck? :dunno:

Something 30 watt or so with a good duty cycle is all you need :thumbs:

The $7 one I got from the local hobby shop is working pretty good.

I have two cheap corded models and they both work fine for everyday use. Don't spend more than $20 if you aren't going to use it on the reg.

I have several. I like my Snap On butane the best. It is just a Weller with Snap on branded on it.

My buddy that is a mechanic has a Snap on butane and it works really well. He said it was kind of expensive though. :dunno:

That is why I mentioned it was made by Weller. See if they have a Weller on Amazon
