That's exactly what she needs. Commuting 25~ miles during the week will definately add up.

My wife drives 105 miles round trip during the work week. She fills up once a week, if that tells you anything. They're solid cars dude, if that's what she decides on I think she'll like it.

Between the Fusion and the Altima, I'd probably have to side with the Altima. As much as I love the Fusion, I think it'll be the better car for her. However, her dad is dead set of her getting a Fusion, so :ohnoes:

Is her dad buying it? If not, I think what she wants should rank a lot higher than what her dad is "dead set on." :dunno:

I doubt you could go wrong with either of the options you've named. Good luck!

Thanks Michael! Well her dad is paying for half of it so that makes it a little difficult. She's trying to find one for relatively cheap so she doesn't have to pay for it through school. Like you said, she can't go wrong with either one so I'm not really worried if she gets one or the other. It's just a matter of which one she can find that's the better deal.

Understandable.. If it were me, I'd probably lean more towards the Ford. The last few Nissans I drove just weren't that appealing. But, I haven't driven a late-model Ford. So, what do I know?

I guess it's easy to say what I'd get, since it's not my money that's being spent! Let us know what she ends up with.

She has mentioned a Nissan Altima and a Mustang. Although a Mustang would be badass I don't think she'll get one because of insurance. She did mention her grandma is a member of a credit union so might go that route.

We just bought a used Altima and we love it. It's just a 2.5 4 cylinder, but peppy as hell and almost 35 mpg on the highway and getting 25 in town.

Another vote for the Altima here. Wife drives 09 3.5 SE and we both love it. Since it has the bigger V6 fuel economy isn't obviously as good as the 4 cyl, but she still gets 23 MPG with mixed highway/city driving.
