As a previous owner of numerous VW's, I wouldn't suggest a VW to anyone that like their car to run maintenance free the majority of the time. They're incredible driving cars, they have great stereos in them and they feel like a pricey European car. The reliability of them is shit though. I love them, but I know what I'm in for when I buy one.

We've had excellent luck with our 09 Altima since buying it new. Been a good little car so far and it drives and handles great and the fuel mileage is good too.
