Heavy Metal Red Neck
So pretty much since I have owned the truck(coming up on 2 years
) my ABS AND brake light come on shortly after I start driving. To lazy to go out and take a pic,but you know the symbol (!)(P).
I THOUGHT it was in conjunction with the ABS light and warning of the module being fwonked. Last week I pulled my rear calipers and rotors and painted them red and the brackets black.
When I removed the passenger side rotor a shit ton of brake dust was in there.
Comparing the two sides visually it was apparent the one side of the horseshoe (for lack of a better term) was CONSIDERABLY worn.
When reinstalling the rotor and caliper it didn't seem to spin as I thought it should and seemed to drag.( at first I thought it was because I got overspray on the rotor's brake pad surface
)which for those of you NOT as stupid as me it WILL wear off after a few dozen (or so) hard stops while making a HORRIFIC squealling sound EACH AND EVERY FWONKING TIME.
but I digress.......
.
Although on several ocasions( and ESPECIALLY after seeing that) I have checked and RE checked that my Park Brake release was well.... released.
Is it possible this whole fwonkin' time that (for some reason) the cable is improperly tensioned, OR (based on watching a how to replace them video) could the "horse shoe" not be clipped in the bottom bracket (or bottom bracket broken) or some shit.
Tearing this ALL back apart without having a course of action in place does NOT appeal to me. I plan on buying a new clip/bracket "just in case" and obviously E brake pad. Is there a way to adjust the tension or something that I need to be aware of to prevent this from continueing.

I'll put that on the "to do" list for tomorrow.
for NOT clarifying the idiot light sooner.
