Where do your license plates go when you sell your car?

Its pretty easy in maine. You can either keep the plates and they will apply the money left for the year to yuor new registration or you can transfer the plates over to the new owner. I always keep my plates.

You need to get a retractable plate holder for the Caddy. They have places that sell both manual and electric ones. The electric ones go for about 150$. If you got the electric one, you could wire it up to a hidden switch or even a remote. Then just drive with no plate and if you see blue lights behind you flip it out. When the cop asks why you don't have a front plate just play dumb and say "What are you talking about? I DO have a front plate. Yo are mistaken, ossifer." :lol:

I don`t know if plates can be transfered person to person, (I kinda think they can???) but here in alberta you can register a plate on any vehicle fopr a fee, I have kept a few and bought a few new ones too. :)

Back here the plates are registered to the car. But in my state Military Police fleet has its plates registered to the police itself.
