Washed it after a muddy weekend camping. The thing is still dirty and I scratched the piss out of it and bent the running boards. Oh well just a reason to rip the things off.
Don't rip them off!!! Take them off!!! to avoid damage to the truck of course. :D And yes, definitely a good reason to.

Haha I tried taking them off last week and the bolts were rusty as hell and I snapped the heads off a few bolts. I soaked them in penetrating oil so they will come off this weekend.

Is your alternator & battery gonna be up to the task? I've considered doing this too.How you gonna hook 'em up?

I know my battery can handle it. Not sure yet if the alternator will handle it. Only way to find out is try it out and see. :dunno:
I have a 130 amp alternator already. I can either get an overdrive pulley to bump the amps at idle, or I can get a 200 amp alternator.

And this is what I will use to wire them up.

I need to talk to Justin and Jenna and see if this will work with my PCM. I may need to tie it in with the AC clutch trigger wire. I am good with wiring, so it shouldn't be a problem.

Drove it to work, it has been terribly neglected the past few weeks. I can't wait until I am not busy.

So,since my Burb is OBDI I'd prolly have to run some new wires, huh? I'd need some way to tell the fans when to turn on.I would guess there's an aftermarket kit somewhere for that.

Actually you will need "TWO" triggers for it.
One for engine temp... and one for when you are using the A/C...

Shouldn't be too hard to hook up and make it work right...

So then any time the A/C is on the fans should be on? Wouldn't the engine temp trigger sense the extra heat from the engine working harder to counteract the A/C compressor draw?

Any time the A/C is on and you are at about 35 or 40 MPH or less, the E-fans should be on.
If they are not on, the system will not have enough airflow thru the A/C condenser.. (in front of the radiator) to cool the hot gas before it goes back into the compressor, and and the compressor will build up WAY TOO MUCH head pressure and blow the freon out thru the pressure relief valve...
Then the AC don't work at all...:(

You don't have to ask to know how I know THAT...
