So I was strolling thru the local U-pull it junkyards here not to long ago and I cam across a 06 Silverado. I checked to see it the E-fans were still on it, but sadly they had been crushed to prices by the wreck the truck was in. But the harness and all wiring was still there so I bought it. I know these sell for upwards of 90 bucks, so I didn't hesitate to buy it for 25 from there. Anyways, I need to know if anyone knows how to wire this up. I have the relay box which has a 6 guage main power feed, and two blue and one green trigger wire. The two blues tie together into one wire further down the harness. Then I have the two fan plugs and two black wired which I am assuming are ground wires. I need to know what to tie the green and blue wires to. If I am guess right, the green goes to the AC clutch trigger wire and the blues will go to the engine computer pin that was turned on when my Blackbear tune was done. Any help is appreciated.

What is the real advantage to e-fans VS mechanical? (other than the 5% loss in power and economy)

I guess I just like mechanical since they're proven and "fail mode" is fully engaged. E-fans die and you loose cooling.

You looking at converting? I'm still considering it myself. It cleans up the engine compartment.

I have been wanting to for quite a while, but its an expensive upgrade. If I can find the parts used for pretty cheap then I will do it. Now I have the harness, so am pathway there. Now I just need the fans, and the pins to crimp on this harness so I can connect it to my computer. Maybe I will get lucky and find some fans on a truck in the junkyard. :dunno:

It does free up a minimal amount of horsepower. But the biggest advantage, and the main reason I want them is much better cooling at idle. The mechanical fan can only move so much air at idle speeds when the truck is sitting still. And in the brutal summer heat here, it get so hot that my AC even starts blowing warmer when I an at a stoplight. The electric fans would help my AC blow colder as well. And as far as losing cooling if the fans die, you still have that risk with a mechanical fan as well. If the fan clutch fails your engine will run hot. That happened to me on an older vehicle I had. Only it wasn't as obvious since every time I checked it, the clutch seemed to grab. I caught it one time not grabbing and I immediately replaced it and then my cooling was fine.
