What did you do to your truck today?

So,since my Burb is OBDI I'd prolly have to run some new wires,huh? I'd need some way to tell the fans when to turn on.I would guess there's an aftermarket kit somewhere for that.

Actually you will need "TWO" triggers for it.
One for engine temp... and one for when you are using the A/C...

Shouldn't be too hard to hook up and make it work right...

So then any time the A/C is on the fans should be on? Wouldn't the engine temp trigger sense the extra heat from the engine working harder to counteract the A/C compressor draw?

Any time the A/C is on and you are at about 35 or 40 MPH or less, the E-fans should be on.
If they are not on, the system will not have enough airflow thru the A/C condenser.. (in front of the radiator) to cool the hot gas before it goes back into the compressor, and and the compressor will build up WAY TOO MUCH head pressure and blow the freon out thru the pressure relief valve...
Then the AC don't work at all...

You don't have to ask to know how I know THAT...

Found out that if I'm going 30 MPH and mash the pedal the tires will spin... Not used to that

I take it you got your ECM/tune from BBP.


Drove it to RadioShack.

Took the bike for a 50mi ride for the first time in 2 weeks.

Bought a factory CD player ($45) for the S10 and it worked without having to unlock it. Will be calling a junkyard about a dash for it tomorrow.

The way I understand it, the AC trigger will turn the fans on low anytime the AC in on (at 45mph or less). The temp trigger will turn the fans on low when the temp gets over a certain point. If the temp gets hot AND the AC is on, then both fans will run on high. But the harness I have has two triggers, on for high speed and one for low speed. Im sure I can get it hooked up and working just like they were factory installed.

Gary, you would probably have a buy a temp controller for your 95. I know they make relays with a temp probe that you can mount in one of the water jackets on the engine. That probe will tell the fan relay when to turn on and off. You can also wire it to your AC clutch trigger wire to come on when the AC is on.

The main reason I want them is because I noticed a serious temp difference in the summer when my truck is idling Vs. driving down the road. The AC actually blows warmer when I am sitting still at a stoplight, then gets colder when I start moving. Once I change my AC compressor and get these fans installed, my AC will be blowing frost in the middle of summer.

I paid 100 bucks for them. They easily sell for twice that though. I have been wanting a set for a while, but just didn't wanna spend the cash. I just came across these in the junkyard by sheer luck and asked how much. They said 75, but then he told me there was a 25$ core charge. I still gladly paid 100 because when I can find them, they are about 175-250 for used ones. New ones cost more than twice that. And the think the width is about 34-36 inches, I will have to double check.

The wiring diagram I found is for the taurus e-fan swap that's popular for the s-series, but the same principle can be applied to any dual fan setup

The e-fans you have, as far as I know aren't high/low... It's one and two fans on or off

For Scott, the temp sensor/switch should be already activated in the ECM... I think BB might turn it on whenever they do a tune, but I can't remember for sure.
