The 6.7's have not been out that long. I have faith they will be good but they are not high mileage engines anymore. In reference to the 6.4L They are strong runners. If you can take all the dpf off legally go for it. A lot of states wont pass inspection without it.

Legally no one can take it off(private citizen anyways) but I dont have state inspection. As far as high miles, that doesn't apply to me. I have never owned a rig past 100,000 that i didnt buy with 100,000. If the 6.7 makes it 100-150k I would be fine.
And the 6.7 has been out a year now, if major issues were going to crop up, they'd be there by now.

Since you're not towing, get the EcoBoost.
On second thought, a 5.0 might be better since it doesn't need premium.

Nice trucks you had BTW!

The ecoboost needs premium? That kind of sucks.

Nope, straight from fords site

Get the fuel economy of a V6 engine with the power of a V8 in one technologically advanced powerplant.* That's what you get with the 3.5L EcoBoost engine running on regular (87 octane fuel). EcoBoost combines direct injection technology and twin-turbocharged performance. Direct injection produces a cooler, denser charge that generates more power per every drop of fuel, while the two small air-to-air intercooled turbochargers spool up much more quickly than a single large turbo. What you experience is instantaneous low-end torque responsiveness with virtually no turbo lag.

2011 F-150 EcoBoost – six-cylinder-type fuel economy and V8-type power in one technologically advanced engine†, developed especially for use in our new 2011 F-150 half-ton pickup. The 3.5L V6 EcoBoost engine can tow a maximum of 11,300 lbs., which is the most in its class.** It delivers 365 hp with 420 lb.-ft. of torque, the most torque of any premium performance engine††, as well as best-in-class towing and payload.‡

Which would you have?

Max and Al with a Sierra Denali around it.

Sorry, IFS Is for half tons
