Just took a look at my route today on the map linked below my sig.

Here's a screen capture. Note what it says in green in the bubble/box. :)

Did you mean the 71MPH part??
That's a GOOD average speed...

A good average should be at LEAST 85! :D

Not with that truck. With that big flat front on the box it acts as an air brake. Flat out, foot to the floor and just about redlined while going down a moderate hill it tops out at 83 mph.

No, what I was trying to point out is that all the way to WV I was broadcasting "truckmodcentral.com" as my position comment. :tmc:

Think of it as the very first, sorta, TMC radio advertisement. :D2

Time for a DirtyMax!

Nope... Time for some better aerodynamics on the box, and a different gear ratio in the rear. That 410 isn't made for highway speed.

The 4.10s will be fine... It's the aero dynamics... Unless you want more speed, lol, but can you afford the loss in accelleration? :tmc:

Actually, I need the 4.10 for the weight I sometimes carry (up to 6k in the back, and up to 10k on the hitch), but that flat front really needs some aerodynamics work. The trouble is, anything I put there will have to be custom made, and that shiz ain't cheap.

I'm going to 4.10s when I go to the bigger tires and axles

Diesel?

If so, that's gonna hurt your mileage. Check you final ratios and see what RPM's you'll be cruising at. Anything over about 2,100 and you'll be out of your economy range and using a lot of fuel. RPM's around 1,800 at highway speed will give you the best economy.

Nope, my Blazer...
It's too heavy for 3.42s and the 4.3
Even stock, 3.73's would give me better mileage, city AND highway...

The Ford let me down. Has been backfiring a bit when passing on the highway, and today it shut down 3 times, CEL coming on constantly.

Barely made it to the dealer.
