Ford credit did take the bailout... Just sayin.

GM probably had long term contracts with suppliers (the ones making parts for the VUE) that they were locked into, that, and tons of surplus parts for this platform, so it may make sense from a business standpoint.

they sure did.. no auto maker was guilt free...

cant wait for the brilliance of GM to bring the Chevette back as the new aveo

The long-term contracts with suppliers wouldn't be a big problem for GM since the Chevrolet Captiva Sport is actually still well-received in some export markets such as Uruguay (where it became the Blazer's replacement) and Brazil (where it still didn't replace the Blazer because there is still no flexfuel version officially avaliable for the Captiva).

Back in 2008 I took this picture in my neighborhood, near the synagogue, when there were still not too many Captivas back here, but they've become very successful due to the crossovers trend and the cost-effectiveness.
