2 Cycle Oil In Your Gas Tank

hmmmm....I don't feel like having my truck smoke every time I start it up. Maybe thats just me.

well they are doing it with adding 4oz for every 5 gallons which comes out to a 500:1 ratio or even higher

apparently its supposed to:

lube fuel pump
line fuel lines
lube ring pack
make a better seal for better compression on the ring pack
lube upper cylinder

i am actually trying it on my truck, so ill let you know how it turns out

Don't suppose a tiny bit could hurt anything... but I'm not sure of any benefit either.

If you put very much in, the catalyst could be damages along with O2 sensors. I'd be careful adding much.

Gas already has all of the additives it needs.

I call on any benefit.

What kind of negative impact will this have on the injectors? Probably minimal on a TBI, but I wouldn't take the chance on the newer MPI systems.

Remember, just because it "sounds" logical and a few people on the interweb are doing it does NOT mean it's a good idea. There are engineers that design these systems that know a helluva lot more about them than we do, if they didn't design for it, I wouldn't use it.

Sounds like a bad idea to me. With a ratio that lean, how much could it possibly help? Do I think it'll damage anything? Probably not, but your fuel system isn't designed to have 2 cycle oil running through it.

I haven't heard of it but I have heard about the Marvel Mystery Oil thing. I tried it and saw no improvements. So I stopped using the MMO.

just throw some lucas fuel injector cleaner in it. same affect.

thats how we break in our river boat engines, but only for the first tank.
