Wife's Burb Stuck In Park

just to get this straight she wasnt parked against a curb to hard or anything like that was she??:dunno: some times they jam up if you parked against a curb.

No,she was parked on flat asphalt near the basketball courts...

I got in and it came out of park on the first try

The linkage is on the right side of the column, just under and behind the ignition switch. I had to move it on mine when I changed my multi-function switch a couple weeks ago.

I may still have the diagrams in the garage...

Diagrams would certainly help if you could find 'em. I just dred removing the Airbag,never done that before

I can't find the darn things now. I may have tossed 'em out after I changed the switch, but I remember that I got them from the online Chilton's library. The link is here on TMC somewhere. Sorry I'm not being too helpful but I've got a killer of a sinus headache right now and I'm waiting for some meds to kick in.

The brake shift interlock is on top of the column behind dash, you should not have to remove the airbag. there should be a switch that can be replaced IIRC. I remember doing a few in the past but I`m a little fuzzy on details...:(

Yes,I remember vaguely.I searched here and found nothing.So that's where it was,huh? OFS right there :lol: Her Burb has been fine since then,but the other night it started this crap again.

Yeah,I was lucky.I had visions of what I went thru with my daughter's Expedetion.Wifey's Burb was parked in a very bad place near the basketball courts at our local High school :(

I wonder if that has the same steering column and interlock as my 01. :dunno: I know 98-02 have the same steering wheel, but I wonder if the whole column is the same. I will look at mine and let yo know what or if I find anything. It will be this evening before I get a chance though.
