Had a friend over for dinner tonight and then had to go rescue him after he left when his Mountaineer died a block from my house. The cigar lighter fuse blew and it shut down the whole truck.

I've never seen that before, and I'm not sure what else is on that fuse that would cause the truck to shut down. Gotta be something really screwed up in his wiring because there's no way blowing the lighter fuse should cause that. What if you blew it while driving on the highway because the kids plugged in too much crap in the back seat? That could be dangerous.

Anyway, we replaced the fuse, gave him two spares out of the kit I keep in my truck, and got him going again. He's a fellow ham radio operator and has his radio with him, so if he gets stuck again before he gets home I can go rescue him again.

I guess this makes me a "full service" dinner host... Dinner, dessert, leftovers to take home, and free road service.
