Over-the-rail drop-in bedliners -Because the bedsides aren't as important as the bed?

Bed rails on my 97 looked worse than that because it didn't have an over the rail liner in it. It all depends on your use, my current truck has an over the rail spray in and I love it.

I actually expected worse after you removed the liner. It's nice and shiny in there now.

How heavy are those hard plastic liners anyway?

that cleaned up better than I thought it would....I can't wait to get my bedliner out I hate those damn plastic liners just for this reason wears the paint off and rust starts underneath....Im going to get a sprayed in liner when I remove it. Going to suck though I have to take the fiberglass tonneau off to do it not sure how much of a pain they are.

Cleaned up pretty good, Danno! If you want some info on that stuff I sprayed in the F150, let me know.

I'm probably going to stay away from a spray-in, just because I don't use the bed for that much harsh shit (mostly bikes, music equipment, mulch, firewood, and the occasional trip to the scrap yard), so I don't need the extra weight of a spray-in (isn't a linexed bed supposed to weigh something like 50lbs?).

I'll probably end up cutting the rail covers off of the drop-in, and throwing it back in, or just leaving it out altogether.

Yeah if I used the bed a lot, I'd definitely have an over the rail spray-in, but the truck is more of a toy now than anything now that I'm up at school more often than not.

I too was expecting a lot worse. I was expecting one giant pile of rust flakes.

And it's hard to tell how heavy it is because of the awkward size/shape, but I'd put it about 30-40 lbs.

Between the liner, tailgate, and the tonneau, I probably pulled 80-100 lbs. off the truck. Not a whole lot, but it should make a bit of a difference.

Sucks, man, but you'll get it knocked out and not have to worry about it. Nice pictures, though. :D

The bed looked pretty darn good inside (especially considering where you live), but those rub through spots on the rails are a joke. I've always used under the rail pendaliners in my trucks and never had an issue.

Dan, that is why I mentioned that Raptor stuff I sprayed in the F150. I knew you were concerned about the weight. This stuff adds like 15 pounds, it doesn't go on as thick. Check out those pics I posted.
