It's been out for the iPhone for at least a year now... I just got the Viper 5701 alarm/remote start installed today.

I'll probably add on the SmartStart option sometime down the road.

This makes me want to switch up my current one with a 5701. Essentially unlimited range....mmmm...

Hmmmm, lets see, I'm on vacation and I want to start my truck that is sitting in the garage 2,000 miles away to make sure it is good and warmed up with the heated seats on for when I get home. Yeah, that's it, that's the ticket. :) :jester:

And you timed it right as someone was trying to break in, scaring them into thinking someone was in the truck. They run away and you're saved.

Then the auto stop fails and the truck runs for hours until it runs out of gas and fumeagates all the critters in the garage.

All right, man, let me see how much a new Viper system costs and I'll let you know how much you can give me for the CA-671. :D2

I picked up the 5701 from SonicElectronix, a factory refurbished one, for $110. It did not come with the bypass, so I had to pick that up at the place where I had it installed. I think it ran about $75 or so.

The thing I like about the SmartStart isn't so much that you can start the truck from anywhere, but that it'll push a notice to your phone if the truck's alarm has been set off.

My remote start works fine from my current Viper Key pad, that's a little overkill IMO :jester:
