I am just like you Jim, Mobil 1 5w30 changed every 5000.

I know everybody has their own opinion but I think this gives me superior protection. I know it is supposed to be OK to run 7500 miles between synthetic drains but I like a little overkill. If I ran regular dino like Jeff runs, I'd be changing it at 3000 like he does.

Call me crazy.

I go by my driver information center... In most cases it wouldnt require an oil change till after 10,000 miles.. But I usually fold and do it at 7500-8000 which I still have about 30-35% Oil life left..

I am using Rotella 15-40 Oil with a Purolator Gold One, or something like that...

were did you get that purolator one filter? i used to use them, they were excellent filters! then the place i got them from stopped carrying them,

Advanced Auto Parts sells them...

You're crazy.... :dunno:
That is exactly how I feel. If my truck was just my dd and I didn't want to start modding the crap out of it, I would just use conventional but I want superior protection. Especially when I start floggin the crap outta it:thumbs:
